PS3!
Apparently the local Best Buy has a number of PS3s. And apparently almost no one knows about it. I can't afford one, and I don't think I could make enough of a profit on one to justify the trouble. But if anyone would like me to run down the street and pick one of for you, gimme a phone call. (If you can afford the whopping $635.)

Best RC Plane Mod EVER!
RC airplane + a VR rig = Best Toy Ever! Notice that the camera pivots to mimic his head movements. I wonder if those little dials on the dashboard actually work.
Whale Carcass in Shark Infested Waters
This video is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. It's an incredible frenzy of great white sharks disposing of a dead whale.
What happens when a death metal band does a jingle.
I got quite a kick out of this commercial for Duncan Hills Coffee. That looks like a good show. I may have to start watching TV again.

White 'n Nerdy
Ok, this was sent to me a quite a few people. A little history first, here's Ridin Dirty, by Chamillionare. Meh. Not really my thing. Seems a little repetitive. But that's ok! Because Weird Al improved it! Definitely one of his best. Well, at least it really speaks to his core demographic. YouTube has a whole slew of Weird Al videos. In the same vein, there's All About the Pentiums (From All About the Benjamins), and This is the Life, from Johny Dangerously. And there's a lot more where that came from. And Marty found a great write-up on Al over at Slate.
Comic Book Physics
There's a series of four lectures on YouTube about physics in comic books. It's fantastic! If you already know your physics, you'll get a laugh out of this. If you don't, you'll get a laugh and learn something. 8^) Here's part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4. And, uh, if anyone is looking for a Christmas present for me, this guy's book would be great!

Pirate Lessons?
Ben, a co-worker of mine mentioned something to me the other day. He'd been looking for a place to study some form of martial art. (I think he settled on Akido.) As he was comparing his numerous options, he noted that there are lots of places that'll teach you how to be a ninja. (Using the term a little loosely here, I know.) But there really aren't any places that'll teach you how to be a pirate. In an effort to strive towards some equality in this meme, he decided that someone should open a school to fill the void. And he decided that of everyone at the office, I was the most qualified. (I have to admit a certain pride at that.)
Well, there's certainly a lot one could cover in a pirate school. Sailing, of course. Knot tying, rigging-climbing. Rope swinging. A little rapier fighting to acknowledge Errol Flynn's influence, and a more substantial amount of cutlass fighting. Parrot and monkey care. Some history. (Big points to the first person to comment with the difference between a black pirate flag and a red one.) Lots and lots of dialect coaching.
Boy. Who wants to help with this?

On Sunday (our last show!) curtain's at 2:00. Tix are a little pricey, $17 for a student or senior, $20 for everyone else. But tonight it's only $13! Go see it!
Update: The Towsley is right here.

Springtime in November
This morning was beautiful. While having my breakfast, I looked outside. And there were thousands of little cotton-tuft seeds blowing around in the wind. Like from cat-tails or somethings. Lots of the stuff! Looked like it was falling from the sky.
Interesting drive home from work today. What is it with people getting into wrecks in my path? I saw so many flashing lights on my way home. Thank God I'm not epileptic.
So when are we all going snowboarding?
Clinton on FOX News
If you haven't seen the Chris Wallace interview with Bill Clinton, you can see it on YouTube here, here, and here. You can get a good summary from the Daily Show clip. In addition to that, Diganta sent me this Keith Olberman clip. (That guy rocks.) Why didn't Clinton do more to stop Bin Laden? Why didn't Bush do ANYTHING?
The Bouncitron!
Tony sent me a rather amazing web site. I realize that as a guy, I'm not the intended demographic. Still, I can see myself spending a lot of time there. ... Admiring the technical aspects of the programming, of course.
What Came First, the Violence or the Videogame?
/. has a post about this. When I was growing up, TV was to blame for violent kids. When my folks were growing up it was rock 'n roll. Now it's video games. At least that's what the experts tell us. Pft. "X" is an unknown quantity and a spirt is a drip under pressure. Ok, that sounds better than it reads, but you get the idea.

I'm Online!
I have my cable modem up and running at my new Ann Arbor residence now, and it ROCKS! I actually had it running almost a week ago. I haven't done any posting, cause, you know. Warcraft. (Which also ROCKS with the cable modem!)
Slowly getting moved in and settled. I finally got the living room picked up, so I no longer have any excuse for not moving more of my stuff over. Once I'm moved it, I'll be inviting over absolutely everyone I know. Watch this page for details.
Crazy Trombone Solo
Got this video from Beth. I can honestly say I've never seen anything quite like it.
